Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 4 September 2026. These terms set out the rules for using Local Ear.

Who operates Local Ear

Local Ear is operated by Lyme Software Group Ltd, a limited company registered in England and Wales, trading as Local Ear. Our registered postal address is 3rd Floor, 86-90 Paul Street, London, England, United Kingdom, EC2A 4NE. This is a postal address and not a public visiting address. You can contact us at dataprotection@localear.com.

What Local Ear does

Local Ear is an event discovery and listing platform. Users, organisers, venues and businesses can create accounts and publish event listings. Listings are not routinely reviewed before they go live, so information may be provided directly by the person or organisation that published it.

Accounts and profiles

You are responsible for keeping your account details secure and for activity carried out through your account. If you create or manage a business profile, event listing or other content for an organisation, you must have permission to do so.

Event accuracy

Event listings are provided by organisers, venues, businesses or other users. We ask contributors to keep listings accurate and up to date, but event details may change, contain mistakes or be cancelled. Please check important details with the organiser or venue before travelling, booking, paying or making plans.

Publishing events

If you publish an event, you are responsible for making sure the listing is accurate, lawful and not misleading. You must have the right to use any text, images, venue details, links or other material you add. We may edit, hide or remove listings where we believe they are inaccurate, inappropriate, unlawful, harmful or otherwise unsuitable for Local Ear.

Reporting listings

We plan to provide an in-app reporting feature so people can report incorrect or inappropriate event listings. Until that feature is available, you can contact us at dataprotection@localear.com. We may review reports and take action at our discretion.

Tickets, payments and external links

Local Ear does not currently sell tickets or take payments for events. Event listings may link to external websites, ticket providers, organisers or venues. Those external services are responsible for their own content, payments, tickets, cancellations, refunds and customer support.

Prohibited content

You must not use Local Ear to publish illegal, fraudulent, hateful, harassing, discriminatory, sexually explicit, exploitative, unsafe, spammy or deliberately misleading content. You must not impersonate others, infringe intellectual property rights, interfere with the service or use Local Ear for activity that could harm users, venues, organisers or the public.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep Local Ear available and useful, but we do not guarantee that the service will always be available, error-free or unchanged. We may update, suspend or remove features, content or accounts where needed to operate and protect the service.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. To the extent permitted by law, Local Ear is not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate event listings, event changes or cancellations, external websites, ticketing providers or user-published content.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, subject to any consumer rights that apply where you live.
